Chatham Kent Public Health, through it’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Colby, updated their direction on dually employed health care workers in the Region.

Early in the pandemic because many workers were employed by more than one organization across the healthcare system directives were put in place restricting the number of workplaces staff could work at in an attempt to decrease the risk of spreading Covid-19 between organizations.

Based on the low rates of Covid-19 within Chatham-Kent and the rising vaccination rate of the population both locally and provincially, Dr. Colby doesn’t believe there is a need for restrictions to be in place as to the number of sites fully vaccinated workers can work.

The onus is still on the employee though to ensure they are abiding by any existing workplace policies and procedures at their place of employment.

Healthcare workers, as any residents, are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after receiving their second dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
