CK Police Arrest Accused Shoplifter, Meat Thief Still At Large

Chatham-Kent Police have arrested one accused thief and are still searching for another after separate incidents over the weekend.

Yesterday afternoon, officers were called to the Wallaceburg Walmart, where a woman allegedly stole about $56 worth of makeup. Store security believe the 26-year-old was involved in another shoplifting incident last month. She’s been arrested and charged with two counts of theft and was released with a date in court in March.

Meantime, a security alarm summoned police to Schinkel’s Gourmet Meats in Chatham around 1 o’clock this morning.

Police say the accused smashed the front door and got away with three boxes of meat.

Anyone who can help track down the suspect is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
