Chatham-Kent police officers on patrol Saturday spotted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed with sparks flying from the wheels.
The driver refused to stop immediately but after a short pursuit pulled into a parking lot.
The driver was taken into custody and blew twice the legal limit.
The driver was charged with impaired as well as three highway traffic act offences.
