A two-vehicle collision involving a Chatham-Kent police cruiser is currently under review.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the crash occurred on St. Clair Street, near Poplar Street in Chatham on Tuesday at around 9:48 a.m.
The police officer behind the wheel and the driver of the other vehicle both suffered minor injuries that required medical attention.
No other details about the crash have been released.
The incident is currently under review by the Professional Standards Branch, which routinely examines incidents of this nature “to promote consistency and transparency within the system.” Police officials noted that the review does not imply any wrongdoing on the part of the officer involved.
