The local health unit is sounding the alarm on an uninspected tattoo parlour in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent Public Health has issued an advisory after learning about the tattoo shop called “Tattoos by Cienna” at 211 Park St.
Health officials said any individual who has received a tattoo service at this location is potentially at risk of contracting a bloodborne infection, including HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.
Those at risk are urged to contact CK Public Health.
Any resident who is considering getting a tattoo is encouraged to confirm that the business has been inspected by the health unit, and that it is compliant with infection prevention and control legislation and best practices.
