With $8-million in natural gas expansion projects granted provincial approval, municipal officials say it could mean hundreds of millions in investment for Chatham-Kent.
The projects are among almost a dozen given the provincial green light this week, although they still need to go through the Ontario Energy Board as well.
Among those are the planned Chatham-Kent Rural Pipeline Expansion to benefit the agricultural and greenhouse industry, and a distribution line for residents and businesses around the Moraviantown First Nation.
Chatham-Kent Acting Director of Economic Development Services Stuart McFadden said the expansion opens up opportunities for any businesses which uses natural gas.
