Chatham-Kent has received its final payment of the fiscal year for hosting Cascades Casino.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has paid $427,620 to the municipality for the fourth quarter from January 1 to March 31.
Throughout the last fiscal year from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023, the OLG has paid CK a total of $1,692,836. Since April 2001, Chatham-Kent has received $16,146,767 from both the former Dresden Slots and the current Cascades Casino.
Payments to host communities are based on a formula applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
Funds are put toward local infrastructure projects and community programs.
