
Hosting a casino in Chatham-Kent continues to pay dividends for the municipality.
Chatham-Kent has received $461,614 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting Cascades Casino in Chatham. The total payment is based on the amount of gaming revenue generated during the second quarter of the fiscal year from July 1 to September 30.
So far, during OLG’s fiscal year, Chatham-Kent has received $936,606.
Since April 2001, Chatham-Kent has earned $20,479,529 in host fees from both the former Dresden Slots and the current Cascades Casino.
The funds are put toward local infrastructure projects and community programs.
