CK Spending $30,000 on Hometown Hockey

Downtown Chatham is the preferred location for the upcoming Rogers Hometown Hockey celebrations.

Municipal lead Ian Clark says they’re looking at an outdoor location somewhere in the downtown core other than King Street, which is seen as too narrow.

While most of the costs of the activities and entertainment is covered by Hometown Hockey, the municipality will be spending around $30,000 to promote the event locally.

The Hometown Hockey team will be in Chatham-Kent December 15th and 16th, recording taped segments with hockey clubs in communities across the municipality.

The main event, including a public celebration, will be held December 16th, with a live broadcast from Chatham being aired during an NHL game.
