CK Surpasses 9400 Total COVID Cases Since March 2020

Chatham-Kent has surpassed another milestone as the battle against COVID-19 continues.

106 new cases of the virus have been identified in the past week, raising the total number of cases locally since the pandemic began to 9405. The weekly average for new high risk cases sits at 15 a day. 

On the positive side, no lives have been lost to COVID-19 this week, and no new outbreaks have been declared. 

Public Health officials continue to keep tabs on outbreaks at Riverview Gardens in Chatham with 59 cases since August 8th, another eight cases at Serenity Living in Blenheim, and 3 positive cases linked to a group home. 

Chatham-Kent’s positivity rate has slipped to 13.7%, down from 15.6% a week ago. The provincial average, by comparison, is 13%.
