Three groups are forming a committee to address the growing concerns about well water in Dover.
The Thames Sydenham Region Source Water Protection Committee, Water Wells First, and municipal staff are teaming up to address the issues.
Councillor Michael Bondy believes the three groups will work well together because they share a common goal.
“All three groups are looking out for the best interest,” Bondy says. “Nobody’s trying to slow down finding a solution and/or preventing a problem from happening. I think there was a little confusion that the municipality was not paying attention to the problems being voiced by Water Wells first, particularly.”
Water Wells First spokesman Kevin Jakubec says it’s a step in the right direction.
The committee will look into concerns about water well contamination in Dover Township, as well as coming up with contingency plans and improved communication with stakeholders.
