CK Women’s Centre Keeping Prevention Message Alive

Women Abuse Prevention Month is coming to a close, but the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre wants to keep the message alive.

Executive Director Karen Hunter says they want to ensure everyone understands that abuse of any form will not be tolerated.

She says, “There’s a lot of support and help in the community. I think it’s everyone’s responsibility to make sure that these types of things don’t happen in their places of work, in schools. We talk a lot about bullying and certainly behind closed doors in the privacy of one’s home.”

Hunter says help is always available, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week through the Centre’s crisis hotline.

You can reach the Women’s Centre by calling 519-354-6360 or 1-800-265-0598, or stop by the Centre itself at 20 Sandys Street in Chatham.
