CKHA COVID Outbreak Declared Over

Good news at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance as the COVID outbreak in the Chatham hospital’s medicine unit has been declared over.

There were a total of nine linked cases since March 1st.

Officials say Infection Prevention and Control measures will remain in place across the organization as the Health Alliance continues to review and monitor the impact of the pandemic on its operations.

There are currently 10 COVID patients at CKHA today, five of whom are being treated primarily for the virus, and one in critical care in the hospital’s Progressive Care Unit.

Province-wide, 688 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, 220 of whom are in intensive care. Overall, there are 1076 new high-risk cases of COVID-19 being reported in Ontario today.

Chatham-Kent Public Health will release its latest update on Wednesday, including active outbreaks and current trends.
