CKHA Eyeing More Job Cuts

More staffing changes could be coming to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance as officials work at reducing the hospital’s debt.

CKHA CFO Jerome Quenneville

The organization recently paid down $2-million dollars of its $10-million line of credit, but CFO Jerome Quenneville says there’s more work to be done.

“When we look at our current assets available compared to our current liabilities, we’re actually over $10-million behind at the end of March” Quenneville says. “Then you add to that some longer-term debt that’s already on the books as well, that’s another $10-million, so overall right now for the hospital it’s $21.7 million dollars at the end March.”

Quenneville says 80% of expenses are staff-related.
