Chatham-Kent’s hospital is seeking feedback to help improve the recovery process for stroke patients.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is partnering with the Southwestern Ontario Stroke Network to develop an interactive resource map designed to guide stroke and Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) patients through every stage of their recovery.
To inform this initiative, the hospital is inviting former stroke and TIA patients to participate in an engagement session on March 24 that will help create a new “roadmap” for recovery to bridge the gap between hospital discharge and ongoing recovery at home.
“To ensure this tool truly meets the needs of our community, we need to hear from those who have lived it,” said District Stroke Manager Jocelyn Badder in a news release. “We want to know what would have been most helpful during your journey. This session is an opportunity for people who have experienced a stroke or TIA to help us turn this project into the best resource possible for others in our community.”
The session will be held at the CKHA Chatham site in room B101 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Those attending are asked to park in Parking Lot C and visit the front lobby Information Desk for directions.
