The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is working on appointing board members.

Supervisor Rob Devitt says they’ve received 32 applications and interviews will start next week.

Devitt says he feels good about the applicants.

“From the resumes I’ve seen, I’m feeling pretty optimistic. I think this really speaks to the interest of the community, and willing to step up. Being on a hospital board is a huge responsibility, and it’s a volunteer role”, says Devitt.

He says applicants are from various communities, not just Chatham-Kent, and that this isn’t a bad thing.

“It’s all going down to how they match the skills we’re looking for. Skills come first. But most of the applicants are local”, Devitt says.

He says once the board members have been chosen, training will begin later next month.
