Chatham-Kent’s hospital has been recognized at the national level for its dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has been named one of Canada’s Best Employers for Diversity 2023 by Forbes business magazine.
CKHA was ranked #51 on the list out of 150 employers from across the country. It also placed sixth among 18 organizations in the Healthcare & Social category.
“This achievement is a testament to CKHA’s continued focus on creating an equitable and safe workplace for its staff, physicians and volunteers,” said CKHA Board Chair Deb Crawford in a news release.
This is the second year in a row that the hospital has achieved a spot on the list, improving nearly 20 spots from #69.
The Forbes list is created through collaboration with research firm Statista, which surveys around 12,000 workers at Canadian companies with at least 500 employees. Participants rate their companies based on criteria such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability and LGBTQ+ equality.
