Officials at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance are working on a vaccination policy for staff and physicians.
CEO Lori Marshall says they’re still collecting data on current vaccination rates at the hospitals in Chatham and Wallaceburg.
“We’re in the process of still receiving staff and physician declaration, and that will be completed by September 1st.”
Marshall says they’ll be rolling out the policy details later today, in keeping with the directive for required testing and vaccine education.
“Certainly I want to indicate my personal strong belief in vaccination, and it is my hope that most of the staff and physicians will be reporting that they have been vaccinated, and we will have that information on September 1st.”
Earlier this month, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer announced employers at hospitals, community and home care settings, would have to have COVID vaccination policies in place for all staff by September 7th, and regular testing and education for those who haven’t received both shots.
