CKHA Purchases Two New ECG Machines

Cynthia Stulp, Manager, Diagnostic Imaging; Emily Sellner, CKHA Foundation Development Officer, Major Gifts; Dr. Gemma Bain-Atoe, Internist and Chief and Medical Director of Medicine Program; Nicole Caron; ECG Technician; Stacie Brown, ECG Technician; Dr. Quoc Tran, Internist and Head of Echocardiography.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is now better equipped to treat patients who may be suffering from heart disease.

The hospital recently introduced two new Electrocardiogram (ECG) stress testing systems, which are integral to the hospital’s Coronary Artery Disease Clinic and serving patients referred for nuclear medicine stress testing.

The CAD Clinic, operated out of the CKHA Chatham site, provides outpatient care for patients showing signs of possible cardiac disease, providing quick access to consultation and diagnostic imaging; identifying risk factors; expediting assessment and access to cardiac intervention; and educating patients about risk factor management.

The new ECG systems are replacing previous systems, which had reached the end of their operational lifespan.

The equipment was purchased using funds raised by the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation and the generosity of local donors.
