CKHA Receives Highest Possible Accreditation

Chatham-Kent’s hospital has been given the highest possible designation for an accredited organization.

During the month of October, a team from Accreditation Canada evaluated hundreds of criteria at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, speaking with patients, family members, staff, physicians, volunteers, and partners.

As a result, the hospital has been granted “Accreditation with Exemplary Standing” from Accreditation Canada for the period of 2022 to 2026.

“Receiving ‘Exemplary Standing’ affirms CKHA’s dedication to providing safe, high-quality care in line with Canadian best practice guidelines,” said CKHA President and CEO Lori Marshall in a news release. “The accreditation process helps healthcare organizations improve on various levels, including quality and safety, communication and collaboration, leading practices and accountability. I’m proud of our entire team for their outstanding work and dedication to the provision of best practice care.”

Accreditation Canada provides healthcare organizations with an external peer review process to assess and improve their services, which provides communities with the assurance that their hospitals are achieving safety and quality.
