The Chatham-Kent Police Service drone was called into action over the weekend.
Authorities say a man known to be wanted by police was spotted riding a bike on Adelaide Street in Shrewsbury, but fled on foot into a wooded and swampy area.
Officers searched the area and set up a perimeter, and with help from the drone’s aerial perspective, the accused was located and taken into custody.
Police say the man is the subject of five separate warrants with Chatham-Kent Police and several others with the OPP. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
