A Chatham-Kent Police officer has been demoted following a Professional Conduct Hearing in Chatham. 
Constable Brad Molnar pleaded guilty to neglect of duty and discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act, accused of improperly handling a child abuse complaint three years ago.
Molnar is being demoted from a first-class constable to second-class for one year, resulting in about $10,000 in lost wages.
An additional charge of insubordination was withdrawn.
