CKPS Staffer Nominated for Hero Award

A member of the Chatham-Kent Police Service is in the running for a provincial award.

Kristine Herfst has been nominated for the Police Association of Ontario’s Hero of the Year award.

She works with the CPIC unit, serves as a board member for Victim Services, and helps out with a number of community events, including the Polar Plunge, Shop with a Cop, toy and food drives, and events in support of the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre.

Nominations are open to any member of an Ontario police force or 911 dispatchers, excluding Toronto Police and the OPP.

Chatham-Kent Constable Amy Finn, who has since retired and moved on to a career in municipal politics, won the Community Role Model award in 2018.
