CK’s COVID Testing Numbers on the Rise

It seems more and more Chatham-Kent residents are getting tested for COVID-19.

Health Alliance CEO Lori Marshall says that while the mobile testing clinics are first-come first-served, appointments are recommended for the main assessment centre.

“Because of that opening and broad-scale being available to everyone, we really recommend people either phone us in advance to book an appointment or do it online,” Marshall says. “It is a very busy place these days, over 100 people a day that are going there. We don’t want people to be disappointed when they arrive and either have to sit and wait for long periods of time or, worse, needing to go home and come back another day.”

As of July 8th, the CKHA has performed 5688 COVID-19 swabs with 84 results still pending.

The primary assessment centre in Chatham is open seven days a week. Mobile clinics are being held at the Tilbury Arena on Thursday and Friday before heading to Blenheim and Thamesville later this month.
