Municipal officials are gearing up for another bridge closure.
The Charing Cross overpass over the 401 will be shut down as of next Tuesday, July 3rd, for three months.
The Ministry of Transportation project includes a number of upgrades, including reconstruction of the eastbound lanes of the 401 from west of Mull Road to west of Victoria Road, rehabilitation of the Charing Cross underpass, Taff Creek Bridge, and Kent Bridge Road, as well as installation of a high-tension cable median barrier from Essex County Road 42 to Victoria Road.
While the work is going on, municipal officials say there could be delays on some of the inter-urban transit routes running between Chatham and South Kent.
A detour will be in place directing traffic across Communication Road.
The work is expected to be done by October 1st.
