Community Grant Applications Open

Applications are now being accepted for the spring round of grants through the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation and South Kent Wind Community Fund.

Over $500,000 in grants are available for registered charities in the municipality.
Past recipients include the Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts, New Beginnings ABI & Stroke Recovery Association, YMCA of Southwestern Ontario, and the Walpole Island Land Trust, among others.

The Chatham Kent Community Foundation is a broad-based, volunteer-driven, philanthropic organization creating, preserving and growing perpetual funds to help donors to have an everlasting impact on the development of the community through grants to registered charitable organizations.

The South Kent Wind Community Fund is a donor-advised fund within the Chatham Kent Community Foundation that was created by South Kent Wind LP, a wind power facility owned by Pattern Energy Group and Samsung Renewable Energy, together with the Chatham Kent Community Foundation. The Fund began with an initial donation of $1 million in the spring of 2013, and South Kent Wind LP has committed to contributing another $10 million to that Fund over 20 years.
