A local organization is benefiting from a grant from the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation.
$7840 from the Joseph P & Colleen O’Neill Betterment Fund and South West Wind Community Fund is earmarked for the new computer lab at Community Living’s Park Ave Day Program.
Executive Director Ron Coristine says the donation has been put to good use.
“Several new updated computers and it helped us furnish this room,” Coristine explains.
“It’s an opportunity for people to come access these computers, whether it be for recreation and leisure purposes or to acquire some basic computer skills, it provides that opportunity for people who otherwise wouldn’t have it.”
Coristine says the lab has been very popular, with participants having to pre-book time on the computers.
