Consolidation Recommendations Approved

Potential changes to English Catholic elementary schools in Chatham have taken another step forward. classroom

The St Clair Catholic District School Board has approved the recommendations from an accommodation review that calls for two new schools to be built in the north and south end of Chatham.

Pending funding approvals from the province, students from St Vincent, St Agnes, and Our Lady of Fatima would be consolidated in one building, while those who attend St Joseph, Georges P Vanier, and St Ursula would attend the other.

In the meantime, the Board plans to move the French Immersion program from Monsignor Uyen to a fully refurbished Our Lady of Fatima school.

If approved by the province, all changes would be ready in time for the fall of 2019.
