A local conservation group is celebrating the beauty and diversity of nature in Chatham-Kent with a unique contest.
NatureCK, formerly known as the Sydenham Field Naturalists, is asking residents to nominate their favourite tree in the municipality.
Anyone can nominate a specific tree by submitting a photo and sharing its significance; whether it’s the size and age, or because of its history or emotional connection.
Eligible trees can be located on public land or private land with permission, and they must be located in Chatham-Kent.
All trees submitted will be displayed on the Nature CK website. The deadline to nominate a tree is August 15, and the winners will be announced September 15.
