Council Returns For Online Meeting Tonight

After taking the past few weeks off, Chatham-Kent council will have an online council meeting tonight.

With a municipal election taking place next month, council won’t tackle anything of too much significance, as council will be handling routine business, such as approving tenders.

One tender that council will look to approve, is a tender for repairs to Wallaceburg’s Murray Street Bridge.

Only one tender was received for the rehabilitation of the bridge. The company that bid for the tender estimated that it will cost just over $1.9 million to do the construction.

If everything goes to plan and council approves the tender, construction would start soon and be done by the end of March of next year.
