A Chatham-Kent councillor is asking for a report on the tenders and requests for proposals (RFP) that were awarded without Council approval.
Ward 2 councillor Anthony Ceccacci put forward the notice of motion at the June 23 meeting requesting council to vote on getting infrastructure and engineering services to bring forward an annual information report on the tenders and RFPs that were awarded through delegated authority.
The bylaw in question allows delegated authority to award contracts with a value of less than one million dollars with an approved budget.
The idea behind Ceccacci’s motion is to bring before council the capital projects that remain within budget and go unreported. Currently, only projects that go over budget are brought to council attention.
