Health officials are reporting a triple-digit increase of new COVID-19 cases in Chatham-Kent over the Christmas weekend.
The most recent report from public health on Monday includes 108 new infections and 70 cases resolved, raising the number of active cases to 270.
As of Monday, there are 10 patients being treated for COVID-19 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
There are currently eight active outbreaks in the municipality – six at elementary schools, one at Riverview Gardens Long term care home in Chatham, and 18 cases related to a manufacturing plant.
And across the province, Ontario health officials reported more than 9,000 new COVID-19 cases on Monday for the fourth day in a row.
