One more local resident has lost their life to COVID-19.
There have now been 87 COVID deaths since the pandemic began, and a total of 9912 cases of the virus, with the understanding that is an under-representation of the true number of cases because of limits on PCR testing.
Today’s report from CK Public Health also includes 61 new high-risk cases of the virus confirmed between October 2nd and the 8th, raising the seven-day average to 9.
There is just one active outbreak of the virus in the municipality, with three cases identified at a group home.
Chatham-Kent’s positivity rate sits at 12.1%, up from 11% last week. The provincial average has risen to 14.5%.
