COVID-19 Drive Thru Clinic A Success, 436 Swabs Done

A total of 436 COVID-19 tests were conducted during Chatham-Kent’s first mobile drive-thru clinic in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance says 103 swabs were completed to wrap up the clinic on Saturday.
Day one saw 165 swabs on Thursday with an additional 168 swabs done on Friday.
CKHA President and CEO Lori Marshall says the CKHA’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre typically sees approximately 60-65 tests per day.
The success of the mobile drive-thru COVID-19 testing clinic in Wallaceburg may see a similar set-up continue across Chatham-Kent.
Marshall tells 99.1 the three-day swabbing clinic in Wallaceburg is showing a demand for this form of testing in the community. Marshall says the drive-thru clinic appears to be a successful model.
“We’re continuing to evaluate the potential for additional testing over the course of these few days,” says Marshall. “We’ll evaluate from two perspectives. One on whether or not we need to do more testing in Wallaceburg and then the second would be, is this a model we can take around to different communities within Chatham-Kent?”
