The public Health unit announced the death as part of today’s report.
It was a man in his 70s who was in CKHA.
He becomes the 6th victim of the virus in the municipality since the pandemic began.
There is now one person remaining in hospital locally.
Just a slight uptick in Chatham-Kent’s COVID numbers today with six new cases and four recoveries, bringing the total active caseload to 114.
The outbreak at Fairfield Park Nursing Home has risen to 31, including both staff and residents. There are still ongoing outbreaks at the Health Alliance, Meadow Park in Chatham, and Tilbury Manor, as well as four workplaces and three congregate living settings.
Public Health is also keeping tabs on LKCS in Dresden after two staff tested positive earlier in the week.
Around the region, seven more people have died from COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex, five of whom lived in long term care homes. The local public health unit is reporting 41 new cases today.
Lambton County has another death linked to the virus – 37 people in the region have now died because of COVID-19. There are 10 new confirmed cases in that area today.
