COVID Cases Back to Triple Digits

There are now 100 Chatham-Kent residents infected with COVID-19, the highest the active caseload has been since early October.

Today’s report from Public Health includes 17 new cases and 5 resolved.

Five of the affected residents are being treated for the virus at the Health Alliance.

Dr. David Colby points out the municipality has passed an unfortunate milestone with more than 3000 cumulative cases locally since the pandemic began, now sitting at 3012 total.

Seven outbreaks are still on the books, including two churches, four schools, and one manufacturing plant.

One positive note, Dr. Colby says so far there has been no sign of the Omicron variant in Chatham-Kent.
