Another big jump in new cases of COVID-19 in nearby Windsor Essex.
The region’s health unit is reporting a whopping 243 new infections today and the death of a woman in her 60s.
There are now over 1000 active cases of the coronavirus in Windsor-Essex with 66 people in hospital.
By comparison, Chatham-Kent has 37 active cases as of Thursday afternoon’s public health update. At last check, there are two COVID patients in hospital, one who is a CK resident and one who lives outside of the municipality.
Province-wide, 2290 new infections have been reported across Ontario, with 40 deaths attributed to the virus.
