A careless driving charge has been laid following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent that sent one person to hospital.
The Ontario Provincial Police said on Sunday shortly before 3:30 p.m., a passenger vehicle collided with the wire guardrail near Kent Bridge Road. The vehicle crossed the centre median before coming to rest on the opposite side of the highway.
There were three occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. One was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The highway was temporarily closed while officers conducted an investigation.
As a result, a 37-year-old from Pembroke is now charged with careless driving.
