Crawford Hangs Up His Helmet

Monday night marked the final municipal council meeting for outgoing Chatham-Kent Fire Chief Bob Crawford.

Crawford served as Chief from 2001 to 2013 before taking on the role of General Manager of community development, before moving back into the fire chief’s position in 2017.

Crawford has been a fire fighter for 40 years, says he’s looking forward to the next chapter.

“I’ve got children and grandchildren here in the community and I have a lot of irons in the fire, as they say,” Crawford says. “I have a lot going on, I’m still fully engaged in the community and our family is fully engaged as well, and I don’t see any reason why I wouldn’t continue on that path.”

Deputy Chief Chris Case is taking over the reins as Chatham-Kent’s new Fire Chief.
