Crime Stoppers Holding 50/50 Draw

With January marking Crime Stoppers Awareness Month, the local program has launched a fundraiser to support its crime-solving services in Chatham-Kent.

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers is holding a 50/50 draw from January 5 until March 31, with the proceeds supporting the volunteer-run community crime prevention program.

Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers, which started in 1987, encourages anyone with information about a crime to call in a tip anonymously to assist with police investigations. Tipsters are also eligible for cash rewards.

The organization relies entirely on donations and fundraising to cover the costs of its tip line, anti-crime programs, and its rewards.

In 2020, tips received by Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers resulted in 55 arrests, 145 charges laid, and more than $328,000 in drugs and stolen property seized.

The draw for the 50/50 fundraiser will be held on April 20 at Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here.
