It’s been a busy year for staff and volunteers with Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers.
Officials with the organization are reflecting on the past 12 months, saying 2025 was a productive year, working diligently in support of the community with the shared goals of stopping, solving, and preventing crime across Chatham-Kent.
In addition to supporting investigations through anonymous tips, the organization also focused on education and outreach that promote safety, security, and overall community well-being.
“We will be reviewing our full statistics later in the New Year once all of the data is available, but we are already seeing positive results,” said Erica McIntosh, Crime Stoppers Program Coordinator in a news release. “People are making a real effort to submit detailed tips that include the who, what, when, where, and how. Quality information increases the likelihood that police can take action, which may ultimately lead to arrests or charges.”
The organization is planning to revamp its communication with the community in 2026, shifting from a “Crime of the Week” report to a broader “CK Crime Stoppers Community Update,” focusing on requests for information about active investigations, education sharing, and crime prevention messaging.
January is Crime Stoppers Awareness Month, with an official flag-raising ceremony set to take place at the Civic Centre in Chatham at noon on Friday, January 2nd.
