The final fundraising push to build a new, expanded Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent is hitting the ground running.

11 events will be held over the next two weeks as officials with the CTC Foundation aim to raise $500,000 for the new 58,000‐square‐foot building on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham. A launch party was held at Chatham Chrysler Monday morning, with a number of major donations announced in support of the campaign, totaling $340,300 raised by local businesses, community groups, and individuals.

The remaining funds brought in during the campaign will help to fulfill the treatment centre’s commitment to raise the $10 million needed for furnishings, equipment, and sustainability.

The new building is expected to provide additional space to reduce wait times for rehabilitation services such as speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and autism services that are provided to thousands of children in the community.

The first official events takes place Tuesday with the British High Tea at Tim Hortons on Grand Avenue East and the Family Fall Festival at the Treatment Centre, open to current and past CTC families.

Other events through the campaign include Karaoke for the Kids at Sons of Kent, and a Prohibition Party at Glasstown Brewing Company in Wallaceburg.
