Thursday, April 2 is the final day to submit nominations for this year’s CK Black Excellence Awards.
This year, each award is named in honour of influential Black pioneers whose leadership, courage, and legacy helped shape Chatham-Kent. Awards will be handed out in eight categories, including the Josiah Henson Legacy of Leadership Award, Artis Shreve Lane Creative Excellence Award, Henry Weaver Black Business Excellence Award, Chatham Coloured All-Stars Athletic Excellence Award, and the Mary Ann Shadd Cary Educational Impact Award.
All nominations must have ties to Chatham-Kent and can be nominated posthumously.
This year’s honours will be handed out at the Black Excellence Awards and Gala on April 18 at the Everest Convention Centre in Chatham.
