Rondeau Provincial Park will be closed over the next three weekends to allow for a culling of the deer population.
A “deer herd reduction” will take place at the part on November 19, 20, 26, 27, and December 3, 4. The cull will take place one half-hour before sunrise until noon on the scheduled dates.
A high population of deer is considered a threat to the park’s ecosystem and an annual reduction helps to ensure the long-term health of the park.
Staff with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks will be present at authorized access points and other locations to advise members of the public that access to the park is prohibited during the reduction.
