The municipality is digging deeper in to the proposed revitalization of the Downtown Chatham Centre.
Following a recommendation last month to do a full investigation of the costs and impacts of turning the mall into a community hub and entertainment complex, Hamilton-based consulting firm Nastadia has been granted the contract for project management and development services.
With a price tag of just over $342,000, the company will develop recommendations for scope and future direction about the proposed project, identify risks, review public feedback, and evaluate the value for taxpayer investment.
A report on the first phase of the project is expected back before council in four months. Recommendations on the second phase are expected to take seven months.
