While no record was set, a recent fundraiser is still helping students in need.

“History Will Be Made” was held on Saturday, April 11 at the Chatham Armoury with the hope of attracting 314 guests in an attempt to break the record for the world’s largest dining table.

Organizers say the evening brought together over 150 people and raised $14, 585 through live and silent auctions, and new sponsorship commitments.

All proceeds will support Noelle’s Gift to Children, an in‑school support initiative that provides students with immediate access to essential items such as nutritious snacks, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and seasonal necessities. Closets are discreetly located within schools and allow educators to respond quickly and compassionately when a child is in need, removing barriers, preserving dignity, and helping students focus on learning and success.

Organizers now say they are planning a repeat event, still hoping to set a world record.
