Disruptive Behaviour in Chatham

A local man remains behind bars following an aggressive encounter in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Police responded to Coverdale Street around 1:30 Wednesday morning for a disturbance. Officers found the accused, who refused to leave the area and displayed what police describe as a clear intent to persist in disruptive behaviour.

The man was taken into custody and placed in a holding cell at police headquarters, where authorities say he then continued his unruly behaviour and urinated on the floor.

The 33-year-old has since been charged with mischief. He was held for a bail hearing, and was remanded into custody at the Southwest Region Detention Centre until his next court appearance tomorrow.
