
Three men and a woman are all facing firearm-related charges following a traffic stop in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a disturbance on Grand Avenue West at around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, however, a “vehicle identified at the scene” drove off before officers arrived.
The vehicle was later located by police and stopped somewhere in Chatham.
Officers conducted a search after spotting prohibited items within the vehicle. A firearm and other items were seized.
As a result, a 19-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, a 39-year-old man, and a 20-year-old woman, all from Chatham, are now charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, weapon or ammunition, and careless storage of a firearm.
They were taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
