A protective dog helped to save a local woman during a fight with her ex.
Chatham-Kent Police say the victim and her former boyfriend got into an argument last night, but the situation turned physical and the man allegedly grabbed the woman by her throat.
Her dog then bit the man, allowing the victim to break free, get to a safe place, and call police.
The 56-year-old accused has been arrested and charged with uttering threats and assault causing bodily harm.
He was held in custody at police headquarters for a bail hearing.
