The attack happened back on January 3rd when the American Bulldog ran across McNaughton Avenue near Sandys Street and bit a man and his small dog.
The other dog’s owner tried to fend off the attack, suffering serious wounds to his hand and wrist. He underwent surgery and is still recovering.
The offending dog was put under quarantine and later euthanized.
Its owner, a 29-year-old Chatham man has since been convicted of not exercising reasonable precautions to prevent the attack in the first place.
